Whoa Part 2…
September 13, 2006
* This is the second part of a seperate post, read the one below first

So I remembered what I did on Saturday afternoon, checked out the Cuban Bros. They were up to their usual antics, lots of funky covers and amusing banter. They had the crowd going but it aint really my thing. Seems like too much of a novelty act, even though it gets the punters moving and laughing.
So Crazy P were playing at 9.30 so me and the rest of the non band members hit the tent for a warm up. Caught a bit of Max Sedgley. He was OK. The tent was starting to fill up and it was obvious there were a lot of people coming to see the Penis. By the time they came on it was packed. Sweaty, noisy and an air of anticipation. Then they started and it was all go. A fantastic hour long set that had the whole place jumping. The big tent was overflowing with people and it was very cosy at best. There will be some photos at the end of this entry. As it was dress up day all the guys were wearing smoking jackets / kimonos with cravats, looked cool. Dani (leading lady) was wearing something, I can’t really describe her costume. All in all probably the best gig I’ve seen them play, the planets aligned and it all went off like a frog in a sock. 9.5 out of 10 and a big green tick. After that it was on for young and old. Everyone was well up for making a night of it.
We hung around for a DJ set from Bent (popular duo from Nottingham) in the same room. There were lots of punters and industry types coming up to the CP crew with congratulations, so we boogied away for a while before checking out other stuff around the rest of the festival.
Now who else did I check??? Not sure right now… So highlights of the night from then on, in point form…
- Listening to a proper disco set from an old Northern dude called Greg Wilson late on, including some of my favourite tunes.
- Stumbling across the secret staff sort of tent about 6 in the morning after most of the other areas had shut down. It was a tent entered through a secret side door off another tent.
- Watching everyone run around in their crazy costumes. Lots of happy, happy faces.
- Checking out the public camping area and seeing how massive it is and some of the stuff that was going down there.
- Watching an American dixie/red neck band entertain a massive crew, out in the open, impromptu acoustic style.
- Watching a wicked sunrise over a beautiful valley, with the festival still cranking in the foreground.
OK, the weekend is still coming back to me in parts so that’s it for now. Bedtime is looming. I just watched the Liverpool Champions League game and ate a burger at a pub down the road. Was cool even though nil-nil draws really are shit.
More photos… Crazy P and the crowd (probably not that good at small res), some teenage lads getting all political and hippy and another youngen riding a wheelchair.
Hope that’s all semi-interesting to you.
Mitch

Bags are packed and I’m good to go.
Just about to eat a solid cheese and bacon pie before heading out Mascot way to get on a plane.
News and pics to come once I get OS.

Flight Centre
August 25, 2006
Picked up all my flight/rail tickets today…man Flight Centre don’t mind a bit of paper do they! How does one copy of an e-ticket and a rail pass = 15 pieces of paper, 4 brochures, 3 wallet sized cards and a million staples? A little overboard.
In other news, nothing like a proper drive-by shooting just down the road from home/work on a Thursday night http://www.smh.com.au/news/national/nightclub-sprayed-with-30-bullets/2006/08/25/1156012701832.html
Lucas Neill to Liverpool!
August 24, 2006
Aussie star of the World Cup Lucas Niell could be going to Liverpool if this latest report turns out to be true. Fantastic news for Aussie football.

I really like Neill as like me he started out as a right back. He’s now in the centre of defence though.
